1911
Waud & Blackman Hardware

In 1911, W&B Hardware established specialist architectural ironmongery stores in the Western Cape and in 2007 expanded into Port Elizabeth.

1950
Buchel Hardware

Established by the Buchel family in Arcadia, Pretoria.

Originally started as a plumbing merchant, and later evolved into a recocnised hardware retailer.

1985
Natal Ironmonger

Established as Natal Ironmonger Specialist, which then later became Bildware.

1989
W&B Hardware

W&B Hardware was established due to exponential growth.

1991
Bildware

Natal Ironmonger Specialist became Bildware Natal.

1999
Corpgro

Corpgro, a division of Corpcapital acquired W&B Hardware, Buchel Hardware and Tool Centre. 

2004
Iliad Africa

Iliad Africa then bought the group from Corpgro.

2007
W&B in PE

W&B PE opened it's doors.

2017
Buchel Expansion

Buchel Harderware took over Design Hardware, and relocated from Strydom Park to Northlands Deco Park.

2019
Buchel Atterbury

Buchel Harderware opened doors in Atterbury, Pretoria.

2020
Specialising

Buchel, Bildware and W&B rebranded the businesses & refocused to specialising in ironmongery. Thus starting the rebrand process to Handles Hinges & Locks.

2022
The First HHL

During 2022, we opened HHL Randburg inside Tiletoria, making it easier for contractors, architects and anyone in between.

 

In the same period we opened our second HHL in East London, servicing the immediate area and as an expansion to PE.

2023
Buchel Relocation

Buchel Arcadia relocated to a new premises in Irene, with a warehouse the size of 2574sqm.

W&B PE Rebrand

W&B PE rebranded to the HHL brand, and relocated to a new premises consisting of 330sqm of warehouse space.

W&B Bellville Rebrand

W&B Bellville rebranded the existing premises to the HHL brand. With updated displays and products.

W&B Claremont Rebrand

W&B Claremont rebranded the existing premises to the HHL brand. With updated displays and products.
